Disney and Lucasfilm just announced an upcoming miniseries of animated shorts - Star Wars Forces of Destiny!
It will revolve around the female heroines of the Star Wars universe! 16 shorts that will be released on youtube, each revolving around different characters from different eras of Star Wars! Including Princess Leia, Padme (finally some prequel love),
Rey, Sabine from Rebels, of course Ahsoka from Clone Wars and my current favorite SW leading lady Jyn Erso.

Feels like a big missed opportunity to me… the idea is fun, the concept
art and storyboards look great. But the animation really ruins it for
me… sigh…
